Sometime ago, someone saw my schedule and exclaimed, “What a suffering! Do you sleep in the night at all? How do you sleep?”

He was amazed because he saw that apart from pastoring the church and overseeing the (then on-going) Lord’s Garden construction project, I was also actively involved in crusades and outreaches. All these things were going on at the same time.

Beloved, I want you to know that hard work does not wear out a person, rather, it is wrong work that wears a person out. Diligence is more refreshing than idleness. Idleness is more tiring than diligence. Doing nothing is more tiring than being active. When you do nothing and live anyhow, you are more easily worn out than someone who is living a life that is fully awake and active.

When you are fully awake and active, all your cells, arteries, tendons, ligaments, tissues are also fully awake, alert and alive. But when there is nothing to do, your body cells begin to weaken and get flaccid, and then decadence sets in.

To live life to the full, you must be positively active, not aimlessly busy. To live your life to the full, you must be fully and positively engaged for God.

Beloved, I decree that you will fulfil yours days on earth. The grace to live for God and make the most of life is on you right now in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Doing nothing is more tiring than being active.

Assignments:

1. Make up your mind to be actively engaged in doing something productive.
2. Refuse to engage in the wrong work.

Previously, we saw that the right decision is one key to a life of excellence and distinction.

Today, I will give you another key to excellence and distinction, and that is diligence.

Diligence implies doing things carefully, thoroughly and thoughtfully.

Now, one department of diligence is paying attention to details. A diligent person pays attention to details. It is not possible for anybody to arrive at excellence without diligence. If you are diligent in business, you are not permitted to stand before ordinary people (Prov. 22:29). To do things anyhow is to end nowhere. It takes diligence, dutifulness and paying attention to details to arrive at excellence. Where everything goes, nothing goes.

A life of shabbiness is the foundation for mediocrity. A man who is diligent today will be eminent tomorrow. It is not possible to be thoughtless and be result-full. It takes a level of thoroughness to see excellence in life. It is thoroughness in activity that is called diligence.

Diligence determines eminence. What you don’t work out will never work out. Carelessness is the doorway to uselessness. Show me a careless man today and I will show you a useless man tomorrow. Thoroughness is the key to excellence. Those who stand out do things well. To take things for granted is to end up grounded in life. You cannot behave anyhow and go anywhere.

Therefore, make up your mind to be diligent in everything you do.

Remember this: It takes diligence, dutifulness and paying attention to details to arrive at excellence.

1. Make up your mind to be diligent and dutiful.
2. Resist mediocrity by all means.

You are not designed by God to exist for fashion; rather, you are designed to function. Anywhere life is not functional, it becomes dysfunctional, and it will acquire afflictions.

It has been confirmed that the way of slothfulness is the way of systemic degradation. Systems are degraded where slothfulness is allowed.

There is an animal called the sloth. Sloths are medium-sized mammals that live in the central and South American rainforests. The sloth got its name from its slow movement. The sloth is the slowest mammal on Earth. It hangs on trees upside down because it is too tired to lie normally. It is very slothful and sloppy. ‘Sloth’ is the root word in the word ‘slothfulness’.

This animal sleeps fifteen hours a day; it has a tiny tail, big eyes and eats fruits and leaves of various types. Sloths cannot walk. If they are to move at all, they are extremely slow. Due to the slothfulness of sloths, fungi grow on their bodies. Green algae grow on their hairs. This is because they are too tired to drive or prevent the growth of unwanted organism on their bodies. This confirms the statement that slothfulness is the way to systemic degradation. Lethargy is the death of energy.

Beloved, the human body is designed by God to be active and not idle. God designed the body to be functional and not fashional. This means, you are not designed by God to exist for fashion; rather, you are designed to function. Anywhere life is not functional, it becomes dysfunctional, and it will acquire afflictions. In our previous studies, we saw that the right decision is the road to excellence. It takes the right decision to arrive at the right destination. Decision is the foundation for distinction.

Today, we shall be looking at three critical decisions to make in order to be excellent and outstanding in life:

1. The decision to give out your best in life (Acts 20:20)

Paul the apostle held nothing back; he gave out his best (Acts 20:20). To arrive at excellence, you must decide to give out your best in your relationship with God, give out your best in your career and assignment. Hold nothing back (Ecclesiastes 9:10).

2. The decision against compromise, conformity and conventional existence (Daniel 1:8).

This is the decision to be positively different from others. It is the decision not to live at the mercy of the crowd. What makes people mediocre in life is the struggle to be like everybody else. Daniel made the choice to take a stand and not to be like others.

Refuse for society to dictate how you live your life. Don’t struggle to be buried in the crowd. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed (Romans 12:1-2).

3. The decision against mediocrity and average existence (Matthew 5:14).

The decision against mediocrity is the decision to stand out in life. You must make up your mind not to be a mediocre person, a beggar, a struggler or a harassed person living at the mercy of others.

Remember this: To arrive at excellence, you must decide to give out your best in your relationship with God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make the decision to give out your best in life.

2. Make the decision against compromise, conformity and conventional existence.

3. Make the choice against mediocrity and average existence.

Please, do not be over-confident. Never think that the fact that you are on fire means nobody or nothing can pull you down.

PASTOR PAUL ENECHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 9TH JANUARY 2021.

Many years ago, a young lady preached to a former male friend of hers after giving her own life to Christ. Then the man said to her, “Your message is very interesting. Please come and tell me more in the hotel where I lodge”. Foolishly, the lady followed him to his hotel, and at the end, they both ended up in immorality. In this case, it was the former boyfriend who “preached” to her at the end. This is over-confidence, and it kills.

Let me also give you another example of being over-confident. There was a Christian brother on fire who always prayed every 12 midnight. One day, he decided to assist a sister who had accommodation problem to live with him in his apartment until she gets her own accommodation. As they began to live together, the first and second nights that the lady stayed with him, his prayer voice was still heard in the night as usual. But on the third night, his voice began to reduce and later, his voice was not heard at night anymore for obvious reasons. This was how he lost his spiritual fire. Indeed, spiritual over-confidence is deadly.

Beloved, avoid over confidence (1 Corinthians 10:12). If you have fallen before, you may fall again if care is not taken. If you were in the mud before, you could enter the mud again if you are not careful. Please, do not be over-confident. Never think that the fact that you are on fire means nobody or nothing can pull you down.

Remember this: To end in eternity with God, you must avoid being overconfident in life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Always avoid being over-confident in life.

2. Disengage from every wrong association.

3. Be watchful, prayerful, and live in carefulness and sobriety.

PRAYER: I thank You, Lord, for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to avoid being over-confident in life. Help me to be watchful and careful in life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Earlier, we saw that there is a responsibility to take in order to see possibilities in life. To stand out in life like Daniel, there is a road to follow.

Today, we shall look at one pathway to living an excellent life, and that is: Decision (or the right decision).

The right decision is a major pathway to excellence. It takes the right decision to arrive at the right destination. Decision is the foundation for distinction. Nobody can be outstanding without a choice; excellence is never a product of chance. A decision for quality equals a destination of quality. To follow the road of right decision is to end at the place of excellence.

For example, no one graduates as a first class candidate by accident. No one can say, “I don’t know what I did but I got a first class degree”. No! It is not true. To graduate with a first class degree, you would have to make the decision first and then you begin to work at it.

Beloved, you are doing nothing about your destination until you do something about your decision. Excellence is ignited by making the right choices; mediocrity on the other hand is a product of the wrong choices. What you choose in life determines what you have; where there is no demand, there is no delivery; what we demand determines what we realize. Your choices determine your chances in life. You cannot excel without a choice and you cannot experience distinction without your participation.

Bitterness, according to our anchor Scripture invites evil work. Bitterness invites every form of evil work. Bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred invites the work of satan in the life of a person.

James 3:16 says, For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

To put it in another way: bitterness puts satan to work; bitterness engages satanic activity. And the worst thing that can happen to anybody on earth is to walk with, or work for satan. Anywhere there is envy, and strife, satan is at work. Now, let me ask you a question: is it possible for a person to walk with satan on earth and then stop walking with satan in eternity? No! The walk continues in eternity because the earth is only a temporary venue for satan – hell is his eternal headquarters.

If you are working together with satan on earth, you will continue with him in hell which is his headquarters. Show me a bitter pastor and I will show you a pastor in whose life satan is at work. Show me a bitter husband or a bitter wife, and I will show you a wife or a husband in whose life satan is at work. This is why it is a tragedy to harbour bitterness in your life.

Beloved, refuse to engage satan to work in your life. Repent from every form of bitterness and envy.

1. Refuse to work with satan by escaping the trap of bitterness.

2. Partner with God by displaying His Nature of love.

The Topic of Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Today 29th December 2020 Is “Walking in Bitterness – Walking in Darkness”

No one who lives in darkness can enter heaven. Anyone who hates his brother is walking in darkness and no dark soul can cross the gate of heaven.

Scripture: 1 John 2:9-11.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Thought for The Day: Everyone who lives in bitterness is in darkness.

PASTOR PAUL ENECHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 29TH DECEMBER 2020.

The way of bitterness is the way of darkness. The meaning is, when a person is walking in bitterness, he is walking in darkness. Our anchor Scripture confirms that walking in hatred, bitterness, or unforgiveness is walking in darkness.

God is light. The question is: is it possible for light and darkness to unite? God is light and heaven is light (Revelation 21:23). So, no one who lives in darkness can enter heaven. Anyone who hates his brother is walking in darkness and no dark soul can cross the gate of heaven.

When you walk in bitterness and you appear at the gate of heaven, the angel of God may probably tell you something like, “We have your record. You have been in church for more than 25 years but you have lived in bitterness. Since anyone who walks in bitterness abides in darkness and heaven is a place of absolute light; there is no admission for darkness. You are cast into hell, the place of darkness” (Matthew 25:30). Anyone who lives in bitterness is in darkness – he is refused entry into heaven which is a place of light and admitted into hell which is a place of utter darkness. When you live in bitterness, you are living in darkness, the darkness of hell from the earth. Beloved, shun the lifestyle of bitterness. You will not miss it in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Everyone who lives in bitterness is in darkness.

1. Refuse to live in darkness through living in bitterness.

2. Do not let any form of grudge settle in your heart.

3. Make up your mind to forgive people ahead of time, even before they offend you.

It has been said that ‘Life does not give you what you deserve but what you demand’. And many times, in demanding for your right, the application of force is a necessity that can hardly be set aside. So, if possessing your possession is your desire, you must be deliberate in taking it, even by force, if necessary.

The truth is, to move, you must rise; to take your place, you must decide to rise.  There can be no concrete advancement in life without a deliberate determination. One of the major strategies of the enemy is to confine the people of God to inaction. The devil desires that the children of God exist in the realm of timidity and cowardice. But you must refuse to be resisted and confronted by the devil into lukewarmness and stagnation.

Never let any confrontation of the enemy stop your acceleration in life. Never let the enemy determine how you are to live your life. No matter the challenges and battles of life, arise and take your possession in God.

I prophesy to you, in case the devil has confined you to a sitting position, or turned you into a timid person, a shadow of yourself; today, the ‘lion’ inside of you shall roar out, the powerful person in you shall come out, the real you shall emerge. You shall fulfil your destiny in Jesus’ Name.

The Topic of Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Today 23rd December 2020 Is “Giving Account of Your Body to God”

Beloved, when you take cocaine, heroin, LSD, Marijuana, defile your body which is the temple of God, and suffocate the Spirit of God in you, you will give an account before God on the last day.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Thought for The Day: One day, you will give an account of what you did with the healthy body God gave to you.

PASTOR PAUL ENECHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 23RD DECEMBER 2020.

It has been confirmed that one day, we will all give account of how we lived our lives to God.

Now, one area of accountability to God is accountability regarding the use of your body. One day, you will give an account of what you did with the healthy body God gave to you.

Beloved, when you take cocaine, heroin, LSD, Marijuana, defile your body which is the temple of God, and suffocate the Spirit of God in you, you will give an account before God on the last day.

Maybe you are into drinking of alcohol which puts your liver at great risk; you will give an account of the damage you are doing to your body before God on that day.

When you defile your body through immoral lifestyle, you will give account to God on the last day.

As a young lady, you will give an account of the way you dress and present your body as a tool of advertisement for satan to take people to hell. When you meet God, you will tell Him why you exposed your body for a weak brother to behold and fall into immorality. You may say that nobody can tell you how to dress but one day, God will ask you of your motive for exposing your body as a channel to lead people to hell.

Beloved, my counsel is, refuse to take anyone to hell because of how you present your body or live. Live in the fear of God.

Remember this: One day, you will give an account of what you did with the healthy body God gave to you.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make your body a habitable temple for God.

2. Live in the consciousness of accountability with God.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask that You give me the grace to make my body a dwelling place for Your presence. Help me not to defile my body in any way, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
